Each group is doing different work but with the same goal in mind: to improve the lives of Haitians. This blog will serve as a conduit of information between the groups as well as the public so that all are updated on work going on in Haiti.

We had an excellent team last week at Les Cayes on the southern coast and have asked that our January team return there working on the church at Torbeck. Please keep our team in your prayers and the people of Haiti and the many VIMs here as there will be great hardship for Haitians in the face of Tomas.

On Saturday, October 30, 2010, representatives from the Haiti Partnership of the Upper New York and Susquehanna Conferences of the United Methodist Church, the Haiti Connection of Lansing UMC and Grand Island Trinity UMC met in Lansing, NY to discuss progress made since the January 12 earthquake and further steps that will be taken in the coming months in Haiti.

It was there that representatives decided a blog was the best way to keep everyone in each group, as well as anyone from the public who is interested, updated on the work each of the groups is doing in Haiti.

In the coming months, representatives from each group will post updates and links to additional information.

Here are some other bits of information from this first meeting:

+ Our next meeting will be April 2, 2011 in Syracuse.
